All over the world there are people suffering from an illness that causes severe malnutrition because they can not eat without feeling sick. Gastroparesis is an illness that affects over 1.5 million people just in the United States. Unfortunately it often is misdiagnosed because few doctors truly understand what it is.

Essentially it is a chronic illness that paralyzes the stomach causing a delay in emptying. One-third of people diagnosed with Gastroparesis never find out what caused it. Not only does it cause severe physical illness, but also impacts an individual’s quality of life.  I am writing you because this is a serious illness that people need to be educated about and an area in which awareness needs to be increased.
